  1. Yes it is a shortened chassis hence IVA requirement. I removed 14.5 inches from the chassis before re-welding together. The rulings are fairly simple but the problem arises with the differing interpretation by the individuals making up the K & R team at Swansea. (Kits & Rebuilds). In essence the 8 point rules still exists. The principle overall is that of the vehicles "identity". ... The identity of a vehicle with a separate chassis is regarded as the chassis hence the ability to retain the identity with DVLA but change the body. The identity of a "monocoque" vehicle is that of the whole structure hence IVA but that has become a minefield. There are vehicle that have had there V5C cancelled and therefore the registration scrapped and the vehicles off road until IVA`d. This for something as simple as drilling one extra hole in the monocoque. (I kid you not here).
  2. Not a silly question.. Fees.... DVSA for IVA inspection.... £450 Re-examination within 6 months..... £90 DVLA for 1st registration... £55 Plus £325 road tax. (Engine a 1975 air cooled twin port 1600cc Type 1)
  3. Yes will dig some out
