  5. Tomorrow we will be upgrading the forum software from V4 to V5. This a major change and you will find the User Interface is different. All the information is there but probably in a different location. I am very grateful to Johnathan Wright (j0nniboi) who has been helping me with designing the User Interface so it looks as similar as we could to the existing one. There are 2 changes that we have been unable to change. The first is that you now log on using your email address rather than your username. The password remains unaffected. The second thing is the +Create button has disappeared. If you want to create a new topic you first have to select Areas > Forums from the Menu and a bright blue button will appear. If, like me, you like having 'Unread Content' as your default start screen then there is an icon top right of the screen to being it up and there is an Options drop down button to select it. The forum will be unavailable while we conduct the upgrade and then it will take us an hour or so to implement the configuration changes we have designed. I would be grateful if you could refrain from asking any questions until tomorrow night when we should have completed the upgrade. Cheers Al (with my Webmaster Hat on)

  8. Also, I’ve attached a photo of me when I was younger with my grandad, Eric who’s on the left just incase anyone may recognise him from a photo instead of just a name. 👍🏻
  9. Maybe, I’m not entirely sure what shows he went to with the vehicle but he was definitely a member of the group and did visit some I’m sure of it, and did also do trips such as to Normandy or Dunkirk for d day. I also have 2 boys in hoods books from 2008 that would’ve been his volume 1 and 2 if that helps which I believe by looking inside is a Robin Hood owners club published book etc. 👍🏻
  10. I wonder if anybody has any old club photos of the stand at Stoneleigh if he attended a show it could well have been that one, it might be in the background somewhere
  11. No worries, I appreciate the help so far and if it helps, there’s no rush. 👍🏻
  12. Ok, I'll see what I can find. I'm on holiday at the moment but I can check when I'm back in a few days.
  13. If you could have a look for me, that’d be extremely helpful, all I need is the car registration number, so I can find where the car is etc. and yeah he will have been a member about 6 or so years ago since that’s when he sold them roughly, he then passed away around a few years ago now. I have also asked family members to look for photos etc too since there will be more of the cars somewhere that I don’t have just yet.
  14. Database switched to the current system about 6 years ago when I was Membership Secretary. Previous system was on Microsoft Access which was clunky to use. I have a copy of the old membership database so he's probably on there, might give details like the car registration number if you don't already know it.
  15. How long ago was anything to do with the database was changed, also is this the only place to ask other owners of them questions or is there other places? he should’ve been a member back when he owned the car since according to my mum and family members who grew up with him, have informed me after asking that he will have done trips and events with fellow owners of other Robin Hood cars.
  16. No sign of him in the database I'm afraid. Al
  17. Mine looked about the same - are you sure the belt is tensioned enough?
  18. There was 7 if you count me on Sunday, bit lonely but a good run out.
  19. Hi Steve, yes I do believe he was a member of the Robin Hood car club, as he drove it with my uncle Andy to places like Dunkirk or Normandy I think it was for D day, I also don’t believe I have any of the documentations for the car relating to the registration as it’s not in his diary when he was building the car but what is in there is that he did get it MOT, and insured etc for the road since he did drive it of course to places, but not as much when I was around them since he was getting older and unable to drive them which is partly why he had to sell them, so I never got to be a passenger in them. Many thanks as always for responding Steve and hopefully later down the line, I can be involved more with these sorts of things as it’s always been my passion and interest plus except from my uncle Andy I’m really the only other person in the family who’s interested in it all.
  20. Hi Callum, Do you know if he was ever a member of RHOCaR (as this club was originally known)? If so our membership secretary, Alan Richey, may be able to find some information on the car. If you have a record of the SVA test or anything relating to it's registration it might help to track down it's registration number. There may well be some members from the Manchester area who remember your grandad or his car (if he was involved with the club) but you may have to wait a while for a reply as many members don't visit the forum every day. Good luck with your search, Steve

  23. Hi all, I joined because I’m looking for a particular Robin Hood 2B blue red trim, the reason being it was my grandads car that he built entirely using parts from a donor ford sierra and other parts from various places and companies, I have the full build diary and some photos, his name was Eric barker who lived in Irlam, cadishead and unfortunately passed away a few years ago now but before he did he sadly had to sell his 3 kit cars, he also had a JBA Falcon which I’m trying to find that was unpainted body at the time and also a Silver Marlin 5Exi with black interior, I only have the photo of the Robin Hood for now but I’m hoping someone can help me track these cars down, as hopefully I’d like to purchase at least the Robin Hood first back since that one I have the most info for, second to that would be the JBA Falcon, later down the road of course but before then would love to chat to the current owners and organise something with them, since this is family memories for me, and will truly mean a lot, since he was also the person who had a model railway collection that I’ve also inherited to keep going and was someone who got me very much interested in these things to begin with. Please let me know, I’m looking for any information or advice. Kind regards Callum, I look forward to hearing back from anyone in regards to it. 👍🏻 photo of the Robin Hood 2B is included below. It’s the only photo of it looking pretty much complete and isn’t just a photo of the chassis etc. if anyone can help me track it down in any way, whether they know the owner or have an idea of where I can look further, that’d be greatly appreciated, there is a reg plate on the car in the photo but it’s hard to tell what it is. Many thanks Callum

  25. Hi All, I have just bought a GBS Zero GT with a 2.0 blacktop and slowly getting through what it needs (I will start a project thread at some point). Main issue I am having is the serpentine belt is catching on the block. The set up is from GBS so I assume it should work without any issues but its as tight as it will go and its still catching on the block, squealing and leaving a bit of residue behind. Has something been set up wrong? There doesn't seem to be any adjustability in the bracket for the tensioner, or alternator. Is it a case of removing some material off the block its catching on? Any help would be great. https://postimg.cc/gallery/Mv9jFQX

  30. Just a reminder the club AGM will be held at this event on 23/5/2026 at 4.00pm. Members are encouraged to attend. Thank you
  31. I'll be there Al, it looks like they're really trying to put a good show on and, as you say, if we don't use it we'll lose it. Not only is it free for car & driver but it is also one of only a few shows where you can come and go as you please. I'm tempted to stay over as pre-booked camping is only £10 (or £15 on the gate), so I might see if I can get a pass out for the weekend. Anybody else fancy stopping over? Steve
  32. This is now just 3 weeks to go. Since moving from Stoneleigh the attendance from the Club has collapsed. Last year only 6 cars turned up, and we were all based in the North. It's quite depressing when this is probably going to be the ONLY dedicated Kit Car Show of 2026 and nobody from the Southern half of the country bothered to support it last year. And it is probably going to be the only show this year where participants are not charged to display our cars. Last year the Newark/Lincoln show was cancelled because no trade members where prepared to fund it. If we don't support it this year then this show will also likely be cancelled for the future. So it's the classic 'use it or lose it'. You can see from the site map that we have been allocated the same stand as last year (E2-E4). So please let's make an effort this year, particularly the 'southern' members, to justify having a stand. Get all the details from https://nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/.

Are you able to clock the solenoid round? I've done this in the past, there are usually 3 long bolts, you undo them then turn the casing & put the bolts back in.
