Urgent Cam Question

I know a man who has a Kent RL32 Rally Cam for sale, now i think this is on its own without followers.

Will this be crap for my 2.1 pinto turbo? as far as i understand it provide more top end power, do you think i will be better off with an FR32 cam giving lower down power. My turbo should compensate for any top end lag and will the RL32 cam run like a bag of poo?

Does anyone know how much a set of followers are for this as well?

Ive only got until lunchtime to decide what im gonna do, sorry for panicking.

Just another thought, will i need any other head work, like bigger valves, porting and poliching etc?

Could this end up as a rather expencive venture? :(

Cheers

Stu,

I wouldn't have thought that an off-the-shelf type cam would not be any good for your 'interesting' application.

I would go to a specialist like Burton's and get them to make up a cam suited to your application from a blank.

Stuart.

Phew thanks, chaps i was almost tempted by the price! :o

i guess your right an off the shelf cam isnt going to be any good, gotta get some stuff from burtons anyway pretty soon, i didnt know they made specialist cams, i will certainly be having a look into this.

Cheers

a rally cam will have a high duration somthing abour 295 - 305 deg. (gross)

for Turbo application, your best bet is to use a lower duarion cam, either a Towing cam, of the original 2.0 pinto cam, or the 2.0 P100 cam..

At most your cams should be no more than 280-290 deg for high rpm torque..

hope you can find one.

:)
