I just got today a nice Chrome sports air filter, rather like a classic pancake.

Made by BugParts, originally for a VW Bug, with a solex carb., some small adjustments and its fits.. :)

Need to make it less tall, by cutting the mesh and foam wall down a 1/2 " or so, and cut a hole for the base.. :)

:D

only cost £8.35 +vat. !!!!

find them at your local GSF parts place ( German, Swedish & French car parts.)

goto their site to find you local..

Check the movement on your engine mounts , because I had a chrome filter which put a nice dent in my bonnet. I have since fitted a foam one which still touches the bonnet but does not cause any damage. ;) Tony

Yes Takumi, use it as a coaster for your cup! there is a good chance that the nuts will dent your bonnet as Tony says, also it will cut down on the amount of air that can be sucked into your carb at high engine revs / speed. They are rubbish!

will easily clear my bonnet, so will propably use this filter.. too good to waste.

im not bothered about restriction, the 1800 isnt a performance engine, .

my 2000 is getting there, that has a much larger pancake sports filter..

thnx
