DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT PSI THE STANDARD 2LTR PINTO FUEL PUMP GIVES IM THINKING OF UPRATING TO A 5 PSI COMPETITION PUMP WITH AN INLINE REGULATOR BUT IF THE PINTO ONE GIVES OUT MORE THAN 3.5 PSI I WONT BOTHER

My Pinto ground to a halt with an output of less than 0.5psi

The replacement from the local motor factors hapily pumped petrol up about 8 feet so it was about 3.5psi

The electric injection pump is 45psi. The mechanical carb pump should be 3-5 psi.

 

For carbs there isn't much point in uping the fuel pressure, the carbs probably can't handle more than 6psi before the float mechanism will be forced open. I would only replace the mechnical pump for reasons of reliability or flow rate.
