Help With Superspec Engine Loom

Here's a question for all you SuperSpec-ers out there. One of the Sussex members has asked me for help on this and he's desperate to complete it before Detling. Unfortunately I don't know anything about his engine loom and so I've started this thread on his behalf in the hope that someone else can assist. Here goes.

Hello

I'm very close

to completing my Super Spec, and desperate to get it on the road ready for

the Detling show in April, but I have a few questions on the wiring of the

Rover K series engine.

Not sure if he really means the T series that comes with the Spec? Anyway...

1 I have stripped and re-run the rover engine loom and seem to have a lot left

which does not seem to be used. Is this right? Should I strip this out and

discard it or bundle it all up and hide it somewhere on the car?

2 How does the Rover engine loom connect to the Robin Hood wiring loom

provided (which I have already installed)?

3 Has anyone got any photos of the Robin Hood Super Spec wiring

installation, and could they e-mail them to me?

Thank you and hope to see you at Detling.

Please post any advice or pictures you may have, or PM me. I'll pass it all on to him. In the meantime, I'm going to get him registered on the forum, if he isn't already.

Cheers

Hi Jon

I didn't touch my engine loom. As I remember it was simply a matter of connecting the loom plug to the ECU. There was some wiring changes but that was on the car loom side not the engine loom. (waiting to be corrected :) )

All the instruction were on the wiring diagram for connecting it to the car loom etc. (ok, some of it was wrong but RH should have all the correct info)

Will is right. There a re a good number wires not used on the Rover wiring loom, just cut them back a bit and tape around. The supplied wiring diagram (hopefully by now) takes a bit of working through but actually is OK. The wiring will take pateince!
