Sealed Beam To Halogen

Want to change from the sealed beams that came with the kit to halogens.

 

What do i need and more importantly where do i get them

Upgrade the whole unit, the rh headlamp cases tarnish badly after being exposed to the british elements. But if you do just want the halogen unit i bought the budget ones from europa and there excellent.

... you'll be needing Relays too, if you don't have them already?

if you used the sierra loom and fuse box it should be a striaght swap as there is a relay for the lights,i have done the same on my 2b,the old rh units lit like birthday candles.

i rub wd40 on the rh casings seems to keep the rust away

If your changing the units change the bulb holder at the same time if its a standard one as they have a habit to slide off the back and cause an intermittent problem. The replacement plugs are cheap as chips from any good motor factors

I got whole new units in black from SVC and there a doddle to fit you only need some new built connections

I got halogen units from SVC to replace just the sealed beam. They have integral side light bulbs and seem to have a good beam. Rapid service and helpful on the phone, thoroughly recommended.

I changed mine for 5.75" ones from SVC after the RH ones went rusty after 18 months

About £50 each

if i remember rightly SVC send them out with colour coded cables for ford looms if you tell them you have a hood which makes fitting a doddle
