well, things are looking up. I have a promise on a 91 (J) 1.8 CVH Sapphire, for £100

 

Will have the final nod on Tuesday.

 

Garage is ready, Will spend the other £100 earmarked for the donor on a 1.5T Wolf engine lift advertised in the paper yesterday

Right, got the beasty

 

Have started today to strip it out, jump started the engine in the garage and let it run for 20 minutes to warm up the oil, jacked the car up onto 4 axle stands then drained it all out.

 

Whilst it was draining I started stripping out the back lights and the wiring loom in the boot. Put a label on all the plugs removed.
