Enjoy yourself

I was there in March and it was great hood weather (28 degrees), apart from the boring (straight) roads would be great to get the hood over there for a good run out.

Eat like an American (when in Rome)

Ponderosa restaurant... All you can eat breakfast for pennies.

Sonnys BBQ Pit............ Unbelievable ribs and steaks.

The Golden Coral......... Al you can eat full on American food, again pennies compared to here.

These places litter FLA.

Oh yeah and if you drive through a huge swamp in Paisley Ocala forest

say howdy to my brother who thought it a good idea to buy an acre of

swampland and live on it.

:D

Jamie , I'd love to say you're right, but it's incredible,

most of the roads are like that 90-95% of the time

v8 suv=17mpg

v6 convertible=21mpg

although i'm led to believe a US gal is only 3.5litres

if my sums are correct that gives about 22 and 27 mpg(imp)

not bad at approx 58 pence per litre

cost $55(£28) to fill the convertible and $85(£43.57 )to fill the expedition

picked the landcruiser up at Heathrow and it took nigh on £90 to fill the tank :o

and i certainly aint getting 54mpg

all in all, a very chilling/relaxing vacation ;) B)

Welcome back Eric... I miss FL!

Us Gal is 3.78L so the real MPG is about 20% more than the US car reads... 20 = 24, 25 = 30 etc.

My car over here averages 20mpg... depressing with UK prices at the mo... means it's about £6 to go 20 miles... argh!! (have to use super unleaded at £1.30/l).

Actually this is half the reason for buying the robin hood! :D
