Hi

I have to go 'oop norf' to collect my RH. At present it is on SORN. It has passed an SAV recently and the owner says it doesnt need an MOT for 3 years.

If I get Insurance is it legal to drive it back and tax it once I get home?

 

Will I get pulled by plod for the MOT situation

you need to insure it and tax it on line and take the tax disc with you to be legal

Whether you need an MOT for the first 3 years depends on who you talk to. The SVA will definitely be OK for the first year, you just need insurance and tax for it. After the first year you'll get a tax reminder, this will say if you need an MOT then. If it doesn't say on it then you don't need it, although a lot of people do anyway.
