Radiator Fixing

Morning all,

 

I've seen some straps on the SVC web site that enable you to fix the radiator fan to the radiator. I've got the Robin Hood fan (thanks Mitch) and was wondering if it would be acceptable to use these straps to fit it to my radiator.

 

They are little metal tie wraps effectively, and they fit through the fins and the top housing of the rad (the solid bit), then over the top and tie securing the fan in place.

 

Has anyone done this, is there any reason why not ?

Make your own with cable ties, Sticky back sponge and bits of plastic.

 

Never liked the look of that system myself, Worried that they may stretch come loose and do some damage.

Been using CBS rad ties for over a year....been fine despite trying to shake them loose every time I go out...

Put rubber tube over them where they go through the rad, you have to make a bigger hole through the fins but apparently it stops the nylon from rubbing against the fins & eventually busting the radiator from abrasion....
