A New/old Acquisition

A Christmas present from Me to Me.

A 1600 Pinto head from a 2.0L Race Cortina engine with 44.5mm inlets and 36mm exhausts, fully ported with 40cc combustion chambers.

Specially recessed plugs to stop piston hitting electrode.

Amassing the bits to build another engine for it to go on, Cosworth rods, V6 pistons modded for floating pins etc.

I had, on my previous car, the same cylinder head spec with bronze valve guides and triple shouldered valves. MegaJolt, Piper 285 camshaft and twin 45's took it to 172 bhp. Coupled to that, it was so easy to drive, without any "peakiness"

Make sure the rocker angle geometery is spot on during build up.

Rocker geometry has been set up for the RL22 that is on the head and i may run that first, if it's a bit peaky then i will swap to the 285 on the current head.

170 bhp that would be higher than my expectations, anything over 150 bhp would make me a very happy man.
