Rear Diff

Has anyone change there rear diff over to one from a Automatic?

I once knew someone that had several Capri's and his first mod was always to fit a rear axle from a automatic to increase acceleration.

Hi Piddy, hope you are well. just looking in the bible according to St. Haynes the Auto diff for 2l engines is 3.62 for the injection and 3.38 for the carb model as opposed to 3.92 inj and 3.62 carb. So basically it is a higher ratio than the manual, acceleration in theory would be slightly slower, but quieter cruising. I had put a gearing spreadsheet on the old website under the downloads section, if you try changing the ratios in it, the speed differences in each gear will be shown.
