Hi all :hi:

Well over the past few weeks I have been looking at the nearside engine mount on my zetec thinking how to make a stronger fix to the engine.

The mount had a lug to go up to but there was a gap of 1" for 2 of the bolts and 3/4" for the other bolt.

Option 1: Leave it and hope for the best.

Option 2: Weld 3 tubes to the mount then bolt through them.

Option 3: Cut off offending lug and move engine mount closer to the engine.

Well option 3 was the best option so off it came...

2mins with a angle grinder (with cutting disk) then with the grinding disk.

And here is the result.........

It's great when a plan comes together;but are there no rubber/metal engine mounts between bracket & chassis? May help with the gear selector prob we discussed on Saturday, regards Bob.

Hi Bob :hi:

Yep it does look rather good!!! :D

Only 3 mounts, 2 engine and 1 gearbox (std sierra gearbox bush)

Might get you to weld 2 small bits of tube just to finnish off (M10 x 10mm long)

Let me know if your up for that.

Thanks Mike :good:
