Fan Belt

Hi all, just made a alternator bracket and as expected the belt is now to large, I know Halfords sell them by the millimetre but is it best to measure from the inside of the V or at the top (widest) part of the V, I only have a small amount of adjustment so need to get it as tight as possible.

Cut your belt to fit then take it to the shop and ask for one that big
