Relay For Cooling Fan

I'm wanting to wire in my cooling fan as per the instruction on the NW Hoodies site.

 

I have a question as I'm not that well up on relays So, can anyone please tell me if I can make use one of redundent relays in the fuse box, i.e. one of the small brown ones, or do I need to get hold of something a bit beefier to handle the current drawn by the fan. By the way I'm using the RHSC fan as supplied with my 2B kit.

 

Any guidance much appreciated.

Hi Phil,

you could possibly use a headlight relay, but I just get a standard relay from the local car accesory shop, they are all the same, and have a mounting lug with a hole already. cost about £4-50p

It will probably be a lot easier than trying to wire it into the fuse box anyway.
