Track Control Arm Ball Joints

I bought my robin hood 2b second hand, so didn't build it myself and am coming into troubles. It's failed its MOT on (amongst other things) excess play in the track control arms. The rubber in the ball joints has perished and the ball joints need replacing. The robin hood website bounces all emails and the phone number isn't valid, so I don't know where to get new ball joints from. Could anyone help. I have a friend who's a mechanic who's doing this for me (out of my league) but he's tried ford and other manufacturers and we can't find out which ball joints to get and where to get them from. ANy help appreciated. Here are a couple of photos of the old ball joints.

Many thanks

Hi Steve

The parts you show in the pic. are TRACK ROD ENDS and not TRACK CONTROL ARM ball joints.

Looking at them I think they might be Metro.

Is your car a Sliding pillar chassis?

If so then almost certainly Metro.

Try GBS or KIT KAR PARTS DIRECT.

The ROBIN HOOD web site and phone number have been dead about 2 years now.

Hi,

its a ford unit. i replaced one due to split rubber boot and was in a hurry (bought replacement boots for the other side before that split and the top balljoint rubbers).

The box says

Firstline

FTR4126

Ford

Tie rod end outer

QR1834S

TA986

HTH

Good luck on your mission agentgonzo
