One of several questions i'm about to post tonight so here goes:

How have people attached the clutch cable to the pedal and have you used a spring on the pedal end?

Photo's / advice greatley accepted.

Cheers,

Dean

hi,if you mean pinto and type 9,i used a bolt to fix cable which was a new cortina one with a hole at the end instead of a lug thingy.then a spacer tube to take up the slack between the bracket and outer cable.and yes a spring is a must to prevent your foot catching pedal and pulling the rod out of the master cylinder.hth.

jess.

Sorry, yes it is a pinto and type 9 set up with the Mk2 Escort cable .

A slight problem I cut the hole off to get it through the bracket so the bolt is out.

I've used a spring on the brake but not the others yet.

On the throttle I used the cycle brake method of trapping the cable with a bolt that has a hole through it. I thought about doing the same with the clutch but i'm not sure.

I have the Zero pedals and I have drilled the top of the pedal to take a bolt through and then drilled the bolt to poke cable through. The shank of the bolt will turn in the top of pedal , and two locking nuts clamp the cable through drilled hole in bolt with washers.

I had poked the cable through the hole in pedal and clamped off but this cut through cable after 4000 miles andcable snapped.

Others have used the capri cable with an eye hole to bolt through and an adjuster at gear box end but have to extend the mounting with a tube as wrong length outter cable.

Hi Dean

I'll try and get some photo's at the weekend if I can but I did the same as Steve (and as you will the accelorator pedal), opened up the hole at the top of the clutch pedal to take a bolt through and then drilled the bolt to poke cable through, when tightened it clamps the cable to pedal and is very secure.

I also have a spring on it to help the return although I did find that the clutch returned quite well on it's own anyway

hope the rest of the build is nearly there - think we need to see some pictures!

Hi Tony,

I actually had it running for the first time last night following the the engine seizing exercise. Runs like a bag of poo at the minute but hopefully that will be improved this weekend.

I will try and get some decent photo's but i struggle to get far enough away from it to get it all in.

Thanks Bone and Steve, the picyures would be great if possible.

Cheers,

Dean
