Momentous Day.....

Shaft

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Well, after spending the last 4 weeks completely rebuilding the engine, i've finally

got it fitted into the Zero!!

Big step forward as i'd not touched the car itself for over 3 weeks, all been bench work.

Just got 1 more engine mount to fabricate, and it will be self supporting. :yahoo:

Latest pics are up on Photobucket HERE.

Theres some of how i've got rid of the distributor if anyones going the Megajolt route also.

Best Regards to all,

Nick.

youve done superb job there. any idea of engine rebuild costs?

Thanks for the nice comments, appreciated mate. :drinks:

Err, cost..... err........ if i said ouch, would that help? lol.

Seriously though, not too bad really if your just going sensible with it, but i'm

not one for doing things by halves.

Most of the cost as gone on a FR32 cam kit and full megajolt kit. Vernier pulley

was only £50 (alloy as well) so happy with that.

Oh, and a Bogg Bros manifold with CBR900 Fireblade carbs. (ouch... but very sexy).

HTH,

Nick.

Latest engine re-build pics added to the album.

A couple of close ups of the bracket i made for the crank sensor

might be usefull to anyone looking at fitting megajolt to a Pinto.

Timing now set accurately using absolute TDC and cam set with vernier pulley.

Hope everyone who's busy building is going well,

Nick.
