Superspec Instrument Cluster

Hi,

I have a 2004 SuperSpec with the single central instrument cluster.

It was all working but now the main instrument illumination and both the fuel and temperature gauges have stopped working. I assume the fault must be either a single supply line or earth wire that is common to all three circuits . All the other warning lights (oil, ign, main beam, indicator and handbrake) are working.

Does anyone recognise this problem or can suggest where I should check on the two input plugs on the back? If I have a pin where there should be a voltage or an earth reading I can work backwards to see where the break is. I have wrapped my wiring in split sleeving and loom tape so I’d like to be sure which wire I need to check before cutting into it.

A diagram or table showing the correct readings expected on the pins of the rear plugs could be a sufficient starting point for me to trace the break.

Thanks in advance for any info,

John (jwts).

Hi John

All those items (temp, fuel and backlights) are on the right hand side - ie the left hand side when looking from the back of the cluster. I'd guess that maybe the connector has come loose / is not making a proper connection? (The one which you had to use silicone sealant to fix it).
