Hi Daz, the pressure should be 2.5 - 3.0 psi and should be a bike pump really. Its apparently just a live feed with the ignition as per a normal electric pump. That way you wont need a regulator, just the pump.

I have just taken delivery of a set of ZX9R carbs which will be going off to Bogg Bros soon for cleaning, jetting and fitting to a shiny new manifold

Do you mind me asking how much Boggs is charging you for this? I wasn't sure whether or not to make a manifold. As per Knock-on's reply above, a bike pump has to sit in the tank I believe? Can someone confirm please?

I was just looking at a small facet type pump, but not sure if they go as low as 2psi.

Thanks guys

Alot of bikes have stand alone pumps, gravity fed from the tank, usually anything up to £30 on ebay, I have zx6 carbs and a facet fast road cube pump, no reg and it has worked fine for over two years, the main thing is to make sure that everything is spotless when you rebuild after rejetting, any crap in the bowls will unseat the floats and lead to flooding/overfuelling, the seals on the float bowls can dry out too.

Jet size I have 1.75mm for the two litre red top, so you'll probably need about 1.55/1.6 for the 1.8 zetec

Cheers Steve, I will bear these sizes in mind. I looked at the fast road facets but I think they were around 5 or 6 psi?

I will have a look on Ebay.

Thanks Steve.

Hi Daz,

Bogg's will be charging in the region of £300 for this, I assume that includes posting the item back to me.

In addition to that and the cost of the bike carbs (£50) I will need a fuel pump, air filter and a trip to the rolling road, (initial rolling road cost £50+VAT)

Hope this helps,

Regards

Stuart

Thanks Stuart.

That's not a bad price if it includes jetting, setting up and the manifold inc the rubber joints.

Mmmm, will keep them in mind. Hope to get my carbs in the next day or two, can't wait!

Thanks

Darren
