Stainless Chassis

Sorry everyone, me again

 

What is the general view on preparing the stainless chassis? I only really intend to paint the exposed parts, but should the welds all over the chassis be painted at least?

 

I have just spent the last 4 hours or so smoothing welds and removing splatters etc, but a lot of this was spent wire-brushing the welds which appeared to be rusting. I understand that although the welds themselves are stainless steel the heat generated in the process reduces the metal's resilience to rust?

 

Options:

 

1. Leave the chassis as it is and just paint the exposed areas

 

2. Paint all the welds to prevent rusting, and the exposed areas

 

3. Paint the whole chassis and be done?
