2b Plus Sump?

Hello,

I have just bought at robin rood 2b plus. It is a rolling chassis so far. I was wondering since it was bigger than the normal 2b, do I need to modify the sump? It is a 2.3 pinto engine.

Hi Stu welcome to the mad house.

yes is the answer it needs shortening BTW the 2B plus is no bigger than any other 2B it just means it has wishbones rather than sliding pillars. Look for how it's done.

Thanks Chris! I just bought the kit yesterday and it is defiantly wider that the regular 2b. Is there another kit that Robin Hood makes that is wider and bigger? It has a stainless steel tube frame if that helps.

No the 2B was and still is the widest hood. I believe the wide Zero is about the same width

 

The Lolocost chassis of 2002 was also the same width

You might run into problems with modifying a sump on a 2.3 Pinto - it will have been stroked to get to that figure so clearances inside might be a bit tight. You should be able to do it as per Jim's guide on the NW site but be careful.

Must say Andy I thought that too and if it is then it is nothing like a UK Pinto and will be an sod to get parts for.

I am located in Boston so I don’t think there is anyone near me. I believe it is a Lima engine. I do not have the kit yet I am picking it up this weekend I will find the dimensions and post them.
