Welcome aboard and congratulations on your order. :drinks:

The next 4-6 weeks will fly by with regard to prepping donor parts, but on

the excitement front it will seem ages! lol.

What engine have you gone for? Zetec i presume if from GBS?

Throttle bodies and a decent ECU to control it all will be the most efficient

and give the most performance.

Bike carbs are the next option for simplicity and cost.

Others on here will be along shortly sharing far more knowledge of the

injection set up. I run a dinosaur engine with only 8 valves so will leave the

in depth discussions to others for you.

Where abouts are you as there may well be a Zero or two being built or on

the road near too you. Should be no problem to have a look at them, we're all

a friendly bunch on here.... mostly.

HTH, :hi:

Welcome minibigfinch (what's the story behind that name?)

I agree with Kev keep it simple get the car built then consider the many enhancements to improve performance.

Any questions just ask someone will answer or pop around to help, once you become a full member you can loan specialist tools/equipment.

Best of luck.

Welcome and congratulations on your purchase,

As Nick say's, prepping the donor parts will keep you busy and the time will fly by,

Engine/injection wise I'm assuming you have bought the engine from GBS but have you thought about what induction/injection system you will be using? The expensive way is throttle bodies like jenvey but good deals can be found on ebay and also bike injection throttle bodies are also a cheaper option, both will need an ECU to contol them, Omex is always a good option, not the cheapest but you need to pass emmissions at the IVA, the sky is the limit on this area so choose carefully and make sure they do what the IVA man needs to test for.

Fuel system wise, The gbs fuel tank is ok but not ideal due to not enough outlets and you would also need to fit a swirl pot, this will mean a lift pump and a high pressure pump for fuel, Nick (Shaft) has a mate that fabricates fuel tanks and can have one built with an internal swirl pot which means you will only need the high pressure pump, (have a chat wiht nick)

First and fore most thought,,,,,,,, Join the club as its the best 15 quid you'll ever spend and enjoy the build.

And as always,,, the only stupid question is the one not asked,

Put your location up and see if anyine close is in the midst or finished a Zero, bring biscuits and tea will be provided, lol

Morning,

Congratulations on your first step of a fantastic adventure!!! I am now following Nick (Shaft) and Dave (Dinger) and have almost finished my build, the final bits include ECU and Throttle bodies!! I am planning on using the Emerald ECU and AT Power TB's but as previously said there are plenty of options and as the build is full of personal preferances this will no doubt be the same!!

Regardless of all else enjoy the journey and remember no question is a stupid one if you don't know the answer!!!

Cheers

as regards inlets gbs are about to start production of a single port throttle plenum ,

that will use the throttle body you get with the engine , should have loads of torque,

and at arround 200 squids not bad for cost , re use the existing fuel rail and injectors.

just a thought
