Anybody know if it would be a difficult task swapping this for a Pinto?

It "looks" like a blacktop Zetec engine at first glance, except for that lump hanging off the right hand side in front of the oil filter.

 

So, now I'm not sure about it.

that would be the chain driven oil pump.

A timing CHAIN ? That's quite rare now I thought. So an "Old School" engine then. :)

 

I wonder what the reliability must be like for the rest of it.

Most jap cars are timing chain but unfortunatly, like Vauxhall, their supplier must be poundland, they are suffering big time with chains stretching
