hi all.

anybody tell me what the points gap should be for a 2.0 litre pinto using

a 'modified cortina dizzy.

also what is the static timing for engine when fitted.

Assuming you are using a standard cam use the cortina settings which are 8° btdc and 0.45mm for a Bosch and 0.64 for the motorcraft. If you have a 'better' cam then you may want to increase the initial advance by a few degrees, until you get pinking under load then back it off.

;) the best way to set a points gap is with a dwell meter 48-52 degrees i believe

doing it this way is more accurate than feeler gauges as you only set the gap on one of the four lobes using feelers wereas useing a dwell meter you set it up on a average of all four lobes
