Bonnett Louvres

There are two sets of louvres in the bonnett over the footwell.

The others further down the bonnett allow ventilation for the engine.

But these just let in water when it rains and when I wash it.

I thought I'd block them up with sealer or something, but thought I'd just ask for anyone else's experience before I get the sealer gun out.

I'd thought about using a patch and then filling it with sealer as otherwise it could turn into a resevoir, unless there was a drain off somewhere.

What sort of solutions have others used?

I put some masking tape on the inside and then filled with black silicone sealer, leave for a few minutes then smooth off with a wet spatula to get a flush finish on the outside. Remove the tape when dry. After a while the silicone turns a matt finish and looks like a proper rubber filler piece. My car is painted BRG so the black hides quite well. I have seen stainless cars with clear silicone and they look good as well.
