Me again with more elect probs!

This time instrument panel connector does not correspond to Vicky Green wall chart wiring colours. Donor is 89 Sierra 2.0 GLS injection and I can't even find corresponding Haynes manual diagram! Again colours do not match up with order on panel connector. Connector is 12 pin and goes as follows:

from top as viewed (from back) when connected to instrument panel:

1 grey/green

2 brown

3 blue

4 brown/yellow (x2)

5 black/green

6 brown/black

7 brown/white

8 green (x2)

9 black/white

10 brown/green

11 black/yellow

12 blue/white

Hope someone has the answer!

I worked the connections out as follows ('89 2.0 GL)

I also agree with your colour codes - so I haven't repeated them.

1 Panel Illumination from Rheostat

2 Earth

3 Alternator

4 Brake Warning from Master cylinder cap

5 Indicator switch

6 Fuel Sender

7 Temp Sender

8 Tacho

9 Indicator Switch

10 Oil Pressure Switch

11 + 12volts from ignition

12 Main beam

 

The Haynes manual seems completely wrong even if you do ignore those econo light connections.

I traced these from the socket on the back of the instrument cluster into the harness when I was thinning it down.
