Chassis Number

Can anyone tell me where the chassis number is - I haven't looked yet just want to look in right area for a start

For the IVA the chassis (VIN) number has to be on the offside (drivers) side.

 

Even under the nose cone was acceptable provided it could be read easily.

 

Pre-IVA , I'm not sure. Somewhere under the bonnet I presume ...

Mine is on the very front crossmember under the nose.

Before IVA in the SVA days you could stamp it anywhere as long as you showed the examiner

I stamped mine on steel where my arm rests

I also stamped in other places and secreted others in case of theft

Now you need it stamped front left of engine bay and a separate plate similar to a VIN plate

Mine is on a plate under the bonnet and in an other place just for me to know about :ph34r: 8)
