Quickshift Question

Hi, have followed the standard make your own quickshift and it has worked well, no more bruised knuckles.

It says to aryldite the underneath when you are happy with it. Do they mean the splines on the shaft or between the bolts on top of the remote to fill in the gap?

Only issue is the push down gate to reverse has gone and it just goes straight in. Does it need a gate for IVA?

Cheers

D

Sounds like you have not refitted the c clip that puts pressure on the large rubber "mushroom" that compresses when you press down on the gear leaver.

You need to trim a little off the rubber thing and the fit the c clip into the groove on the stick.

The other thing that might have happened is the saddle that sits on the gear selector shaft might have broken up or fallen off, but that will give you a really sloppy change through all the gears.

Hope that makes sense.

In the picture you can see the rubber "mushroom" as I called it, the c clip sits in a groove above the rubber, the rubber effectively is a spring that you push against, with out the c clip the lever just pushes through the rubber not resisted by it.
