Sierra Fule Sender Stat's

Does any one know the impedance of the sierra fuel sender or just general stats.

I have recently purchased a fuel gauge but am loath to shell out more of my hard earned cash for a third party sender unless I really have to!

Any help is much appreciated

The sierra sender unit has 3 sensor built into it. There are 3 terminals on the socket, the following are measured from each one individually to earth.

______Pin1___Pin2____Pin3

MIN----161------36------1372

1/4------92------78

1/2------55-----110-------180

3/4------27-----165

MAX-----19-----195-------179

Pin 2 is nearest the earth post, Pin 1 is furthest away.

Hope this help.

Some just have a single track version with, if memory sserves me, is the configuration for pin 2 on the three track animal. 36 Ohm empty, 195 Ohm full.

I've just got a new tank sender apperantly for a 2lt and v6 ford, Do I just choose a track that gives me full range on the standard sierra fuel gauge then?

One wire to the track and the other to earth??

Also making sure the unit is earthed aswell.
