I have seen on here before at least 1 thread on fitting a c20xe redtop into a hood can anyone post me the link.

I have just bought a RH and removing the 160bhp pinto and box to fit my redtop engine and quaife pro box.

Why would you want to do that. A standard xe only puts very little more than that out.

If you want to go Vauxhall look into z20let.

Somebody on here paid £4000+ to get his red top to 200bhp.

Z20let 240 standard. Change turbine = 260+.

It doesn't cost to much to get to 300 bhp.

If you want high figures from none forced induction, no matter what engine you use will cost you loads.

Someone has spent a lot on a Pinto to get it to 160 bhp.

Sorry about that, must know what you are doing, just read bit about quaffe box.

I am sort of going to attempt to fit an let in mine over the winter. Thinking of using Omega box and clutch.

Tuned red tops do take some beating when built and serviced correctly.

Which Hood do you have?

You may (probably will) have to remove the servo & possibly the M/C & replace with a floor mounted one,

depending on what induction you have.

You need a sump for a vertically mounted engine.

Suitable exhaust manifold, but it is possible to cut & shut a standard one.

Ignition and /or injection controller.

Bigger rad.

clutch plate and cover.....these guys are really good.....

This is what I have used....

Make up your own engine mounts & arms....land rover rubber mounts are fine.

Good luck with it...its well worth it

I also had to remove the plough tube to let the engine sit low enough to

1. miss the bonnet &

2. get the crankshaft front bolt in the same position as the Pinto.

The gearbox tunnel needed relieving on the drivers side as thats where the starter is.

The sliding pillar set up was OK for a while with a std pinto, but as it got faster it cornered faster too,

& the bottom stud caught the inside of the wheel rims.

Good for raising the blood pressure, & curing constipation as that side of the car decelerates rapidly

Wishbones vastly improved the roadholding & handling.
