Gearbox Mount

Hi,

 

Has anyone uprated the standard ford type 9 gearbox mount. I have sorted the Engine Mounts but the gearbox mount is weak. Before I go and get a replacement ford Item I was wondering if there was an alternative.

I replaced the Ford gearbox mount a couple of years ago at the same time I replaced the big oil filled engine mounts and it made no difference. Engine and box still behave as if mounted on marshmallow. Suggest you explore alternatives at a kit or classic car show.

New standard mounts are as useless as old ones.

I recently replaced my engine mounts with competition ones but the gearbox still jumps around so that is next on the list. Got my mounts from Burton power Xr4/ Cosworth ones, the engine is now rock solid just like a fiesta Doh!!!

I have the Vibra-technics engine mounts from Burton, but they don't seem to do a suitable gearbox mount.
