Don't even try, you could kill yourself :( ....the joints have to be aligned and the whole thing has to be balanced :(

Get a new one from RH or any prop specialist, if it lets go at 70mph you will need new underwear at the very least...or a hearse

Hi,

you'll find on most posts here that you should bin the rubber donut as they have been known to fail due to running too far out of line. You should be able to find a local prop remanufacturer who can swap the donut for a universal joint. Not sure what you mean by bolting at both ends, with UJs at each end of the prop you won't have any issues.

what i intend is from the rear fit the new supplied rhe supplied prop.

2. use the male side of spline from the sierra , cut it and weld it to the 3 holed triangular part of sierra prop and then bolt that to the mt75 gear box.

what you think?

thanks.

You'll kill the output bearing in the gearbox and it'll vibrate like hell until it lets go - very soon and probably taking the tailshaft and a chunk of the transmission tunnel and possibly the occupants with it. For safety's sake get it done professionally by someone who knows what they're doing and take their advice.

The doughnut can allow for a small misalignment between the drivelines of the box and the diff but we're talking a degree or less. RH supplied some props with a UJ at one end and a doughnut at the other - I'm assuming it's one of these you're replacing - best thing for it.

Get a replacement with two UJs. Somewhere like Reco-prop will just need to know the fittings at either end and the distance from the rear face of the tailshaft to the drive flange on the diff. You'll get a prop that's been properly made and balanced.
