Hi Olly,

OK I admit that I do have a bit of history ( 60+ years of it).

When I got my first car, the A7 Ruby - it was four years older than me.

I really admire those people who restore these pre-war (WWII that is 1939- 45) cars and then take them out on today's roads mixing it with the rest of us, who are equipped with wide radial tyres, disc brakes, ABS, crumple zones, seat belts, airbags etc, etc.

Cheers,

Terry

Once upon a time I 3/4 built a special body on a Ruby chassis and drove it along the handy farm track next door. The brakes were hopeless even though I spent a lot of time trying to set them up and the clutch was either in or out. As you say Terry how people manage to drive them in modern traffic beats me.

Peter.

If anyone has the book 'build your own sprots car for £250 and race it' by Collin Champion, look in the first few pages and there's a picture of the perfect Austin 7 Special with a small wright up on them.
