Camber adjustment.

Hi Guys,

I am struggling to set up my front suspension on my 2B build  can some one please help and describe the process for making the  camber adjustment. Is it normal to split the top ball joint or remove the dummy strut from the hub bearing in mind that I have the improved wishbone setup so the cycle wing brackets get in the way when trying to adjust.

Steve, I'm pretty sure I split the top ball joint when adjusting mine; I went up through the dummy strut to remove the nut, pulled the stub out, rotated the ball joint as required, then refitted.

Thanks for the response can you recall what tool you used was it a pickle fork as a ball joint splitter just wont fit

I set the camber when fitting the wishbone upgrade kit, so the ball joints had never been pulled up fully tight until after I'd got the camber set. I could, therefore, just pull the stub out the top of the dummy strut (maybe just a tap under the top wishbone with a rubber mallet to free it, I can't remember).

That’s what I have fitted, I just got carried away and pulled them tight now I can’t get them apart. I will give it another go tomorrow just don’t want to damage the rubber boot.

Forgot to ask what did you set the camber too

I set mine to about 0.7 negative (as close to this figure as the adjustment set-up would let me;  precision is compromised by the thread coarseness of the links).
