Yes it would! That's what I used as a donor for mine.

2.0L Injected pinto ideal as it has hardened head so unleaded fuel. Mine is also the same and I think Battery Bills (sorry Joeys) is as well, both of us have kept the EFI system and are very pleased with it (well I am anyway)

many thanks for that i have also seen a 1988 2l (none injection) but its an automatic. I do have a ford sirerra 5 speed box how simple is it to change over never attempted anything like that before.

You would be better finding a manual one as you require the peddle box and other bits that are different on an auto other than that there is no great problem in fitting a ex auto engine to a manual box just need a flywheel, clutch and spigot bearing

Mine had an EFI donor too... but I'm now on DGAS 38...
