Battery Warning Light

Hi

Can anyone help with this little problem, The battery warning light does not light up when you turn the ignition to position 2, nor does it come on when the engine is first running. But after about 5 minutes and if you give it a blip on the gas, it comes on...... and stays on. (battery is fully charged, btw)

The wire comes out of the original rover loom and was to be connected to the fiesta panel supplied, but I want to use different clocks and seperate lamps. The original cluster appears to have a diode in the circuit before the lamp.

?? Any ideas anyone?

cheers

Hi e, as i understand it you get 12v from the battery feeding the lamp the other side of the lamp goes to the alternator via a diode to energise the alternator when the engine starts the alternator pushes out 12v back to the lamp causing it to go out,
