Photoshoot

Sounds like there will be enough of us to make a good group shot for possible submission to the Calender or the Mag. Just hope it's dry. Aircraft museum is short of helpers so bring your spanners and they will have you servicing a jet engine! :D

RAW is the the raw unprocessed file from the camera chip to the memory chip.

the image as the lens and the chip sees it. any other file type Jpeg being the most popular has some processing ( interpretation) and compression ( the jpeg process throws out bits of image information to make the file size smaller).

If you shoot in jpeg evry time you do something to the image in a program such as Photoshop you re-jpeg it therefor compressing the already compressed image.

For high quality and /or large finished images, shoot RAW, burn to CD and work on a copy that way you can always come back to the original.

The weather forcast for Sunday is awful.

But I will take a drive down to the Aircraft Museum at 11 (it's only a mile away) and ask if we can take photographs of the Hoods in the hangers.

A professional photographer friend has offered to take some super high res. shots.

Well, we have just had an interesting couple of hours at the aircraft museum. They were very friendly, allowing us to climb around the aircraft and play at being pilots. The photographer turned up so we will wait to see what he can do. Meanwhile here is Chris Paddon taxiing a plane out of the hanger.
