can any one let me know how to convert windows media files to Mp3...

 

is there a free converter or easy way to do it

ta for this sparkt, have looked and they all seem to be free to download a version that doent totally work - trying to get you to buy. guess this may be the only way?

Bloke the early version of Windows Media player 10 used to do this until they removed the mp3 ripping capability. I'll have look later if I get a chance as I may have the installer.

There are a few kicking around that are not free but work on a trial basis.

If I remember correctly the first one (Advance WMA Workshop) allow you to convert upto 5 audio files at a time without buying it.

I assume you want to do a batch conversion from wma to mp3.

 

I didi have a look for you and the version I have will rip from a cd to mp3 format, but not do a bulk conversion.

 

I suppose you could put all wma's onto a rewritable cd and do it that way but it's a right faff....

 

I can send the setup.exe but it's about 12 mb.

there is a program outthere called goldwave which will convert just about any audio file from one format to another if you download the demo it gives you 3000 clicks of the mouse!!

 

but heres the sneaky bit it keeps record of the no. of clicks in your computers registry so all you do is search for goldwave in regedit and either reset the entery or delete it

 

i am currently transfering all my plastic disks as my 10yr old calls them (LP'S) to MP3 even cleans the crackle out.
