Speedo Cable

Whilst retrieving my speedo cable from the roof of my garage the cable slipped out of the outer cover and fell on the floor.

 

My problem is that I did not make note of which end of the cable is fitted to the gearbox. One end of the cable has a small yellow washer type thingy fiited to it about 30mm from the end.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction

I am pretty certain that the "washer type thingy" goes in the speedo end as it stops you pushing the cable all the way through when you are fitting it to the gearbox.

I'd agree, from memory there should also be a circlip that holds in in place onto the gearbox.
