  2. Seats are extremely comfy.....so comfy the wife has to watch her weight :)

The other downfall with the seating and the car size, is that I fitted the seats on adjusters for up down and slide, but the width of the car restricts the movement to forward and back about an inch :(

Also the adjusters on the seatbelts are a pain and I will need to get a welder to fit me extra brackets on the back of the car to make it a true 4 or 5 point harness with the aircraft style adjusters and release mechanism. But funds, welder and time have held me back until later in the year.

At least this weekend the car was off the axle stands, started first time and had a little drive out of the garage at into sunlight. Nikki has placed a picture of it on the drive in the garaged section of the site (just a pity it was before the mods).

I also found out how light this car really is this weekend, when I forgot I left the handbrake off and lean't against the boot to do some work. I thought the cardboard was slipping from under my feet. I then looked up to see the car rolling forward towards the wife's......eeeeek!

No harm done, but must remember to place the chucks under the wheels when messing around with the brakes ;)

I'm not looking forward to working on the boot, looks a minefield of different ideas and changes, but maybe I will just fix a temporary tarpaulin over it and send it in for the MOT (too see if there are any other hidden work to be completed).

Does anybody know if I require a jack and wheel brace in the car for the MOT?

CHEEKY i can fit my bum in the seats !!!!!!!!!!! you have been told stop messing and get the bloody thing on the road so i can drive it to the shops

  3. as has been said electric pump is the way to go, turn it on, you can hear it pumping, wait a couple of seconds then it's ready

    good luck

    Ian

Did you ever fit a non-return valve or go electric pump in the end?

Curious, as we are renewing all the fuel pipes and wondered if it was worth fitting a valve during the process.

  4. The whole car is an old girl everything needs upgrading there is no batter tray, old connectors so the whole lot needs updating that why we was looking at this battery as its smaller and give a bit more room for the wires. Just wanted to check that it would start the old girl :-) so think i will order this thanks

  5. The battery on the car at the moment is a cheap very old the car has been a non runner for 3 years we charged it up last week started the car but battery has died since and not charging we wanted to try and get a smaller battery to free up a bit of room as wires are everywhere its a 2lt pinto

  7. H Guys i can tell you the Mrs ( me) will not be letting hubby do anything to this car this year it will be going for a MOT test, washed and being driven very carefully by us both lol then when we know what we are doing a bit more will start to upgrade maybe over the winter next year although im sure after visiting Stoneleigh im sure we will both have our note pad and pens to the ready

  8. Just checked its a sliding pillar to be fair it only gone from the trailer into the garage and it stopped running ( battery dead) we only brought it yesterday so cant really say if any of the normal options like tyre pressure ect as waiting for the batter to charge as we speak :-)

We are just making a very big list of the things we want to do and need to do as its has no MOT at the min and being left standing for a few years although it started first time and sounds great. Hubby joined the club last night and we are looking forward to getting a chance to meet some other people and im sure our list will get even longer

  9. Right me and hubby brought a 2b the weekend :-) its needs some tlc to get it back on the road but we are very happy but we have a few questions can anyone help.

Question 1 - Can we fit 13” super-light racing wheels on the Robin Hood and can anybody recommend where from and what type? it currently has 14s normal wheels on but the steering is really heavy was hoping this change may help a bit.

Question 2 – Any advice on change from single carb to twin carbs on a 2.0l pinto engine?

Question 3 – Recommend any motorsport retailers (links etc…)

Think thats it for 5 mins

    Thank you

  10. We live by Marston Green not far from the NEC we are new to the world of kitcars and are looking to buy a Robin hood built and on the road to start with so we can get used to how it should be done lol. Ive heard a lot of mixed reviews about the car but i love the look of it and really we just want some fun. We might pop in so if you do see a strange couple stalking the car park its us thanks
