  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

    Heritage logo

The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Hope this okay, nothing to do with me just saw it on Facebook.

If you fancy a run out through the winter for a coffee and a chat, Yorkshire Motor Club is supporting the new Monthly Car Meets at Tickhill Cricket Club

With the official end of the cricket season, ExoConcepts in co-operation with Tickhill Cricketclub and the Yorkshire Motor Club will hosting monthly car meets at the club with the first one being on the 26th October.
The gates will be open from 7:45 with its facilities and new purpose built food and refreshments bar being open from 08:00 and the main bar open from 11:00. There is a function room available for chats and to use if the weather isn’t kind on the day.
These events will open to all kinds of cars including supercars, all types of kit cars, modified and classic cars with responsible drivers who appreciate the environment they will be in and will act responsibly both at the venue and the surrounding areas.
If you would like to attend this gathering, please drop a line to garry@exoconcepts.co.uk with your name and the type of vehicle you will be bringing, as we have hard standing for low slung cars and a grassed area for other vehicles, enabling visitors to see and talk to the drivers.

    Winter rebuilds..

    Kitcar7
    By Kitcar7,

Now that our kit car has finished its season and is away hibernating.
I need some ideas on what we should do next, there’s always something to do to it!
    We have

    added a Hifi

    soundproofing

    changed the suspension

    added the spoiler

    upgraded the firewall

    changed the wheels.

we also have a slight issue with rain coming in with our soft top. What are people doing to prevent this?

    East England meets for September

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

That was a close thing, we only just managed to meet up before September ran out,   We went to Burghley House in Stamford for a picnic as the weather was glorious.   It's one of our favourite places to park up as they don't charge for parking.   And as you can see from the picture it wasn't busy 😀 (To be fair, we always go in the overflow car park and the main park did have a fair number of cars left).  So it was very peaceful.

This is probably our last picnic, from next month we will probably go to cafes/garden centres unless we get more unseasonally warm days.

    electric robinhood 2b

    andybp1966
    By andybp1966,

    Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone has built a kit as electric at first registration as opposed to converting an existing registered car

I'm considering it but trying to get any direct answers from the dvla about what particular hoops they would want me to jump through seems impossible

and i don't want to spend the time and money just to find out it's prohibitly expensive, so if anyone has any insight or knowledge on the subject I'd love to hear it

i have already done an electric conversion of a BMW Z3 https://zroadster.org/threads/z3-ev-conversion.53049/

    Thanks

    alantoon
    By alantoon,

Our September meeting is on the last day of the month at the Church Mouse, Chester Moor DH23RJ. As usual all are welcome. Hopefully the weather will be favourable so we have a good turn out of cars, as this is usually the last meeting for a lot of owners to bring out their cars before taking them off the road for the winter. Hopefully you will be able to attend,Alan
