  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable on going maintenance and modifcation) as well as to plan and organize a wide range of social events, from local area events to national events We have club stands at the National Kit Car Shows at Malvern and Newark each year, and we definitely serve the best burgers! We also have stands at many other shows throughout the year all around the country. It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members arrange regular run outs and even longer trips including the ever popular Wales and Scotland trips.

The Club produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members. It is packed with news, events, articles, technical features and irreverent cartoons. The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register, we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as its all about the state of mind, not the car you drive!

Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often get a discount that is more than the membership fee itself. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a wide variety of other discounts, including discounts at Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for anyone they see is in need of help, as long as they too are a member!

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield or a Caterham, all can benefit form joining, so what are you waiting for?

    Skellingthorpe Gala Sun 25 June

    Guest mickmellors
    By Guest mickmellors,

Chris Goldson has asked me to let you know in good time that the Annual Skellingthorpe Gala will be held on Sunday 25th June 2006. The Gala was revived in 2004 after an absence of several years. It is run by the village community, and raises much needed funds for the many groups within the Village. For the last 2 years RHOCaR has had a good representation in the traditional motorcade through the village with as many as 8 cars in the parade. It is a very enjoyable day out, please support the event.

    - Mick Mellors

    From Chris -

The Gala is held on the Community Centre playing field at Skellingthorpe (just outside Lincoln, a few miles to the North West of the City) which like previous galas will be a vehicle based event

The Gala is the weekend after Newark Show on Sunday 25 June starting at 12.00 noon. As always we have arranged a band and a buffet supper at the community centre on the Saturday night before Gala Day which has proved to be extremely popular for the last two years. Tickets for the Saturday night dance are £10.00 each but we would appreciate it if you could give us early notice if you want these as they quickly go once the event is advertised in the village.

There is limited free camping facilities on the Community Centre playing field for those who wish to travel on the Saturday and stay over.

Hopefully like the last two years there will many different vehicles present. All monies raised goes to village organisations/and/or charities of their choice, Skellingthorpe and District Motorcycle Club for instance have raised a lot of money for the Air Ambulance and LIVES so it's all for a good cause.

Hope to see many of you there.

    Best Wishes

    Chris Goldson
