Can anyone tell me if any of the engine ancillaries of a 2ltr DOHC can be used on a Pinto engine? Also can the engine and gearbox mountings be used?

Thanks

Mark O'Neill

The 2ltr DOHC is a completely different engine from the PINTO, but the Rubber Engine mountings and Gear box mountings should be the same. All the engines fitted into the same Subframe and gear box mountings. The only difference is whether you have a Type 9 Gearbox (Cast Iron and Aluminium sections with a single large under gearbox rubber mount) or a MT75 which was fitted to the last of the DOHC/inj models which is a complete aluminium casing and smaller rubber mounts. What were you thinking of swaping over?

Hi,

I am looking for a 2ltr pinto carburettor and type 9 gearbox, just wondered if alternator etc where compatible

Regards

Mark

I am breaking an old pinto and have a carb + manifold from a 2.0l. £10 + postage or collect from Essex. Its been stored for years so will need a good cleanout of the jets etc.
