G'day Mates

Hi everyone,

I've just got back, begrudgingly :boohoo: , from the best year of my life spent backpacking around Australia :D

It was sometimes tough being away from the car for so long, but I left it in the capable hands of my Dad, and he did a good job because I found it just as I left it, minus a bonnet prop bracket and one very dead battery, but otherwise in good health.

I only saw one seven style car all year in Australia, but they don't drive anything with less than 4 litres, so hearing all those V8's rumble past has given me a few ideas for my car ;)

So who wants to give me a quick run down of what's been happening in the world of Rhocar over the year?

I understand Robin Hood has new owners, the battery duo are at it again, and Rizla's disapeared!?! What's all that about?

Ozzie pictures on my website. Here's some Australian hoodie drivers B)

That's about it in a nut shell... :)

More track days this year, some Lightweights being built & RHSC developing a new chassis plus some MR2 body replacement Ferrari affair...

Welcome back.

Hi Joel

Welcome back. Quite a lot has happened since you have been away; as far as I am concerned, the important things have been:-

1) my Hood passed SVA first time 18 Aug last year

2) it has been on several long journeys with no probs

3) I've sold it

4) I keep swallowing a lump in my throat but

5) it has gone to a very good home and will be well-looked after

Of course lots of other, equally important (to those affected) things have happened in that time - you will probably spend nearly another year reading all the posts!!!

See ya

Pete

hi joel welcome back

after being inspired by your car at stoneleigh in 2004 i have now built my own and am planning my first trip to stoneleigh in three weeks.

my car is not the fine example yours is but it does the job :D

just been out in my car tonight on its first run with the hood on and could not believe the difference, its noisy, draughty, ratteley, cloustraphobic and in general feels terrible :p

i think i'll take the hood back off so it feels like a well built car again :D

if you are at the show i will see you there.

cheers Jamie.

Thanks for the welcome back chaps :)

Struth Cobber, that year went by quickly

No kidding! Too quick :boohoo: :boohoo:

Yep, Australia is an amazing country. I'd recommend it to anyone - stick to the west coast though. Now work for 6 months then I'm off New Zealand B)

careful going down Manor Court road as there is a new speed trap.

Thanks Al - seems like the only thing that's changed in a year is more speed cameras :gdit: Is your beast on the road?

See you all at Stoneleigh :D
