Hi Guy's,

 

Is there any difference between a head gasket for the 2.0lt pinto and a 2.1lt pinto?

Maybe!! I'm not sure but the 2.0ltr might overlap the pistons on a 2.1 I guess...

 

Burtons do a 2.1 specific so might be an idea to give them a ring & find out what the differences are...

It depends on how much you have bored out the pistons. A standard head gasket will almost definately overlap the bore with the fire ring on the gasket which leaves it sticking out in the cylinder and vunerable to be destroyed by the detonation process. You need to get a gasket with a fire ring, ie the hole, BIGGER than the bore on your cylinder. Ajusa do one (available from Burtons) that is 94.5mm i think. But its a bit pricey at about £45.
