Exhaust Gaskets

Hi Guy's,

 

Im in the process of changing my cam and head. I bought a head gasket kit from the local motor factors the other day.

 

In the kit there's 1 of the left hand side exhaust gasket and 3 of the other! Am i missing something! I think that there should be 4 of each so you can use the relevant set. I've put the gaskets up against the head and its the one that I have only one of thats correct!

 

Am i going mad of am i right?

I'm fairly sure that's right.

I remember scratching my head when first presented with these - and then it suddenly became obvious - can't remember how they fit though

Think you have to turn one or two through 180° before fitting

they are correct i remember from my youth that there is 1 different from the others but cannot remember which 1 though, sorry (getting old now ) you will just have to try each 1.

while exhaust is off try each 1 to the back of the manifoldthen put in order so dont forget like me

The one on the left is for the first exhaust port. The others fit the rest. I have tried to offer them up the wrong way round!
