I have this most of the time on my old peugeot.hehe

appart from an anoying noise it doesnt hinder the car.

I think mines comes from inside hub when cornering, Ive had the front of the car to peices over the time ive had it, greased the joint bearings with lovely black grease, but unltimatley to rid it you gota get a new shaft, you cant get the CV joint seperate anymore, atleast not for peugoet/renault/citroen

Good luck in fixing it.

Thanks Tak. What you are saying is that its the unloaded one that rattles. Can anyone else confirm that, not that I don't believe you. Its just that I already did the nearside a couple of weeks ago and that seemed to cure it for a few miles. Wondered if I had fitted a duff replacement part.

Don't be fooled by the fact it goes quiet for a few

mile, it's the fact that the cars been jacked up and

takes a few miles to settle back to the worn position.

If you have done the ns, done what inner / outter cv?

shaft ? if all it got to be the other side.

Find a car park and go round on both locks, listen carfully, take a bit

of lock off / on you should be able to pin point the offending

side.

I've no experience of French FWD but from B-L (Rover) I'd check that the big nut on the outside end of the drive shaft has not mysteriously backed off.
