I used to have an S7 until the back end of the year, and my radiator was fitted at an ange on the front of the chassis member similar to the large raddiator shown in mat T post from his 2B. mine however was a cortina radiator and used an expansion tank mounted in front of the engine to stop the robin hood trade mark water release.

The advice used to be to cut some of the monocoque cross member away to allow more room. You can see here that I cut some away but left enough to leave a lip so that there is still a folded section for strength. Some builders I know did cut the whole thing away. I have enough room to fir the rad and the original viscous fan. This has been fine but last summer I did get overheating for the first time in the 10 years since I built it. This may be due to sludge as it stood unused for a couple of years so I may have to visit the coolman solution.
